Yarr.It

Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 July 2026

Yarr.It is a search and playback tool. It does not host, store or distribute any media. This policy describes exactly what the service handles and what it does not.

The short version. We have no accounts, no logins, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect personal information. Media never touches our servers — playback happens peer-to-peer, in your own browser or app.

Information we collect

None that identifies you. Specifically:

Information handled while the service runs

DataWhyRetention
Search terms Passed to torrent indexers to return results, and cached briefly so repeat searches are fast. Cached up to 24 hours, not linked to any person or device.
IP address Unavoidably present in any web request, and used for basic rate limiting. Not written to any persistent log by the relay.
Preferences Filter settings and whether you dismissed the VPN notice. Stored in your own browser only. Never transmitted.

How playback works, and what it exposes

Use a VPN. Streaming is peer-to-peer. Your device connects directly to other people sharing the same file, which means your IP address is visible to those peers — exactly as it is with any BitTorrent client. This is inherent to how peer-to-peer works, not a choice we made, and it is why we recommend a VPN.

Media is fetched by your device and assembled, verified and decoded there. Our server operates a relay that forwards raw bytes between your browser and other peers, because web browsers cannot open the kind of network connections that peer-to-peer requires. That relay does not interpret, inspect, store or cache what passes through it, and it never writes filenames or content identifiers to disk.

Third-party services

These services have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Children

Yarr.It is not directed at children. Adult material is filtered out by default and can only be shown by deliberately enabling it.

Content

We do not host, upload, index or store any media. Results come from third-party public indexers, and playback is peer-to-peer between users. You are responsible for complying with the laws of your country regarding the material you access.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
